ARTIST STATEMENT

Through the integration of diverse mediums and disciplines, my artistic work revolves around themes such as psychology, memory, and time. In my creations, I seek to express a constant tension between the unknown and the familiar. Contemplating indeterminate forms evokes an intimate feeling, while abstraction creates a space for imagination and introspection. In this process, I emphasize the strong connection between the personal and the universal, as well as the intimate and the public.

My childhood was marked by two fundamental influences: my mother, an ophthalmologist and neuroscientist who had an innate desire to collect objects related to memory, and my father, a gastroenterologist, and adventurer who transported my siblings and me to a world of fantasy and imagination. The fact that both were doctors sparked a scientific curiosity in me towards the world.

From an early age, I felt drawn to archaeology because I perceived that this profession would allow me to pay attention to details and rediscover the world in a unique way. However, while studying industrial design, I found a discipline that brought me closer to all others from an aesthetic and creative perspective, providing me with a deeper understanding of materials and their expressive potential.

As a designer and artist, I have come to understand that instead of separating the different disciplines and languages that interest me, it is more enriching to blur the existing boundaries between them. By merging different mediums and knowledge, I can enhance my work and address the themes that impassion me from a more profound and meaningful place, to construct a poetic and visual artistic identity.

Through the handling of techniques and materials specific to design, I can give shape and materiality to my ideas, expanding the scope of my artistic expression. This integration of disciplines allows me to explore the intersection between aesthetics, concepts, and emotions, enriching my artistic creation.
